Economic Concerns About Car Insurance

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Aquiring the least expensive automobile  insurance rates depends on focusing on a few essential. These criteria get the maximum discounts for auto insurance.

First, if you do not have a clean driving record, be prepared to pay extra.  If you are fortunate enough to have an unblemished driving history and are free from accidents over a long period of time you will be a candidate for lower automobile insurance quotes.

An important consideration is the person listed as the primary policy holder. That person has the most influenceaffect on the type of discounts that are offered. When one adds others to the policy, you’ll want to deliberate their driving record and driving habits so you are not handicapped by the other persons performance. It is more affordable to add drivers to your existing policy compared to purchasing separate automobile insurance policies.  Comparing car insurance is easy online.

Secondly, some autos attract higher insurance rates, especially top-line sports cars. These expensive cars are a magnet to car thieves and has an effect on insurance rates. Porsches, Lamborghinis, Corvettes have a different market draw than say a Volkswagon.

Also, by insuring other insurable properties under your control, you’ll get an extra price break. You may be repayed with lower rate by insuring your life insurance, homeowners, rental properties, boat insurance  … for you clientage.

One more  consideration is installing anti-theft devices. Security systems and security gadgets you install on your car lower the odds that your car will be stolen and insurance companies reward you with a lower car insurance quote. Get a free online auto insurance quotes online

Engine flushing…have you heard of it?  Maybe you haven’t.  Here’s why it is important to learn about.  If we could have it our way, the innards of our engines would be spotless, letting the lubricating oil film on the cylinder walls, the valve train, in the bearings, etc. do its job effortlessly.  However, this isn’t a perfect world and our engines’ innards are constantly being bombarded by debris and dust, sludge and metallic particulate that are the result of normal engine wear and tear.  If you have ever done any sandblasting then you have a good idea of the damage that can be done from high velocity dust and grit in the air (so have a really good air filter).

Another big problem with the inside of engines today is that oil seems to turn to varnish and sludge as they age in your engine’s environment.  Depending on the engine and the amount of time, the sludge and varnish can build up so much that oil flow becomes restricted and hot spots develop in your engine.  Oil needs to flow through the engine, so when oil flow is restricted, excessive wear and component failure are often the end result.  Hot spots are no good as they rob your engine of its performance and cause even more oil breakdown.

To counteract the hot spot problem and get rid of all that varnish, sludge and particulate that’s accumulated (causing your engine to lose performance and unnecessary wear) you can run an engine flush through your engine.  It’s basically just introducing a strong solvent to the hot engine.  The sludgy deposits dissolve as the solvent circulates through the engine with the oil.

Depending on which product you use, the process is going to differ.  The method I employ, which is fairly common, is a 20 minute engine flush and I perform that directly before I change my oil.  While the motor is hot I pour in about 12 fl oz of solution.  Then, I restart the engine and let it idle for the next 20 minutes.  It’s very important that you don’t drive the vehicle around while flushing the engine. You’re likely to cause engine damage if you drive while the solvent is in your engine because your oil isn’t going to be lubricating your engine like it would be any other time.

After idling for 20 minutes is up I turn off the engine and drain the oil into the oil pan like I would for any oil change and then I fill’er up again with AMSOIL 5W-30 full synthetic.  My engines stay clean this way.

If you want to keep your engine running cooler, keep your piston rings floating properly (to minimize blow by) and keep your valves operating and sealing well, then keep the sludge and varnish to a minimum.  All this keeps your engine pumping out the most horsepower at the best fuel economy.
